Two Doctors Left Clinical Practice to Build Award-Winning Companies. Now They’ve Co-Founded Operation Holiday Hope to Serve 100 Richmond Families.
Clinical Psychologist and Healthcare Executive Unite for Christmas Gift Distribution Event
RICHMOND, VA – December 19, 2025 – Two Richmond-based doctors who transitioned from clinical practice into successful entrepreneurship have come together to launch Operation Holiday Hope, a charitable initiative dedicated to providing Christmas gifts and support to 100 families across the Richmond area.
Dr. Anthony Duncan, founder of Mosquito and Pest Authority of Richmond (Franchise of the Year), and Dr. A. K. Nayar, founder of Nayar Health Care & Hospice (Top 50 U.S. Healthcare Provider), will host a community gift distribution event on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 6:00 PM at 3200 Milburn Ave, Richmond, VA 23223.
Two Journeys, One Shared Mission
Dr. Duncan left his clinical psychology practice in 2010 with a single truck and a backpack fogger, driven by a belief that strong businesses can positively impact both public health and people’s lives.
“We built this company on the belief that great businesses can improve both public health and people’s lives,” said Dr. Duncan. “Giving back isn’t an initiative for us—it’s part of who we are.”
What began as a small operation has grown into an award-winning organization recognized as Franchise of the Year. Today, Mosquito and Pest Authority of Richmond provides comprehensive mosquito, pest, and termite control services throughout Richmond and surrounding communities and actively supports organizations such as Chair The Love Charity and the Fatherhood Foundation.
Dr. Nayar’s journey began in India, where he was born into a family of oral surgeons. After earning his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2004 and relocating to the United States in 2008 to pursue an MBA in Healthcare Administration, he rapidly rose through healthcare leadership. As a senior executive, Dr. Nayar led 3,000% organizational growth over five years and later played a critical role in preventing bankruptcy for a national hospice organization—saving more than 600 jobs across Virginia and Georgia.
In 2017, Dr. Nayar founded Nayar Health Care & Hospice, built on a mission to treat every patient with respect, dignity, and honor. The company was recognized as a Top 50 Healthcare Provider in the U.S. in 2019 and has since expanded throughout Virginia and into Florida.
Operation Holiday Hope: Where Success Meets Service
“When you’ve been blessed with business success, you have a responsibility to give back,” said Dr. Nayar. “Operation Holiday Hope represents our shared commitment to the Richmond community that has supported both our companies.”
The two doctors connected through their shared dedication to service and quickly discovered aligned values around leadership, excellence, and community impact. Though operating in different industries—pest control and healthcare—their shared philosophy led to the creation of Operation Holiday Hope.
“This partnership brings together two different industries, but we share the same values around service, excellence, and community impact,” added Dr. Duncan.
Operation Holiday Hope will directly serve up to 100 Richmond-area families, providing Christmas gifts and support during the holiday season. The event reflects the collaborative spirit of Richmond’s business community and demonstrates how entrepreneurial success can be leveraged to make a meaningful difference.
